SubFloor/Plenum Cleaning

SubFloor/Plenum Cleaning

When initiating the cleaning process in a data center, it’s essential for the staff to start with the sub-floor plenum area. This involves systematically removing and cleaning accessible floor panels one by one, using lint-free, microfiber, or electrostatic discharge (ESD) wipes. It’s crucial to exercise caution and avoid removing too many panels simultaneously to prevent issues such as floor instability and equipment overheating.
The cleaning procedure should proceed gradually, with the cleaning staff vacuuming all sub-floor areas and meticulously attending to the cabling and hardware of the data center equipment. Once all areas are thoroughly cleaned, the staff should carefully reinstall the floor panels in their correct positions and treat them with a staticide chemical solution to mitigate static electricity.
